Tips for choosing the ideal sofa
Without a doubt, the sofa is one of the most important pieces in our home, the perfect place to share unforgettable moments, receive old friends, or simply relax after a long day at work.

At Casa Suárez, we believe in the identity of each piece, because they are what fill our daily lives with magic, and motivate us to imbue each of our collections with that seal of authenticity, so that you take a piece of our essence and history with you every time you make a purchase.

That is why today, we want to give you a series of tips for when you decide to renovate (what we consider) the main piece of any living room.
The first point to consider, which can ruin any furniture project (if we don't take it into account), is space. We must consider the place where the sofa will be located; for reasons as obvious as not committing the sin of placing a corner sofa in the center of the wall, as well as avoiding placing one so large that it saturates the space and, instead of providing comfort and beauty in the living room, becomes an obstruction that makes you want to remove it from the house every time you see it, or even worse, every time it prevents you from moving freely within that space.

The size of the sofa should be beautifully proportionate to both the size of the living room and in relation to the other furniture, to provide harmony to the ensemble. It can be slightly larger in its dimensions if you want it to stand out and give a sense of power and elegance; but as the wise saying goes, not too much that it burns the saint, nor too little that it doesn't illuminate him.
The second point to consider is color; for obvious reasons of contrast, harmony, and beauty. Although we know that in the end, in this aspect, established decoration patterns will often be sacrificed to make way for a personal whim, reinforcing the concept that there is no accounting for taste. In the end, the host decides whether to decorate for themselves, even if it means disregarding any established standard or pattern, or if they prefer to adhere to what universal standards of art and decoration dictate.

In addition to size and color, we must consider as a third important element, the design and material from which the sofa will be made; since a distressed leather sofa in a rustic setting is not the same as in a Louis XV style living room.
On the other hand, if there are children or pets in the home, it is important to consider how much access they will have to the living room where the sofa will be located; since it would be convenient to think of a material that is not so delicate in its maintenance, but something more resistant to use and, why not, to abuse.

Finally, and as an equally important element to consider, is the budget that is intended for its acquisition, since it is as important not to overdo it by placing a too expensive sofa among old and deteriorated furniture, as we should not skimp when looking for the ideal sofa that we will place among the crystals and porcelains of our main living room.
